India lose Shikhar, Virat early, Rahul departs after steady fifty
At lunch on day one, the Indian batsmen have put up 87 runs for the loss of three wickets.
In a wicket, conducive to pace bowling, Jason Holder, the Caribbean skipper, won the toss and asked his seamers to bowl.
Shikhar Dhawan (1) was the first batsman to be dismissed.
Dhawan gloved a short pitched ball that was pitched outside his leg stump, which was cleanly collected by West Indies wicket keeper Shane Dowrich.
The departure of of the southpaw was followed by Indian skipper Virat Kohli (3), who joined his Delhi mate three overs later after getting out in a similar fashion, but to a ball whose pace and bounce took him by surprise.
Alzarri Joseph, who made his debut in the match, accounted for Kohli's wicket.
After the initial scare, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane calmed things down and restored sanity in the Indian camp with an assured 58-run stand for the third wicket.
Rahul (50) departed after scoring a brisk fifty off 65 balls, falling prey to Roston Chase.
Rahane (17) and Rohit Sharma (9), who replaced Cheteshwar Pujara, are unbeaten at the crease.
India have also made two more changes, replacing Amit Mishara and Umesh Yadav with Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
