Mumbai, Feb 7 (IBNS) Building on the success of key partnerships over the last year, including Team India’s home series against Sri Lanka in November 2014, the BCCI & Twitter are now bringing cricket fans even closer to the sport, on mobile.
Starting on Saturday, follow the latest on Team India and Indian cricket on Twitter via timely Tweets from @BCCI by just giving a missed call on 011 3008 1008 from your mobile phone, a BCCI release says.

After dialling the number, users will start following the @BCCI account on Twitter and will receive up to three Tweets a day as SMS messages. This will also include links to photos, Vines and videos, apart from domestic and international match updates that they tweet about.

BCCI Honorary Secretary Sanjay Patel said "The BCCI has many firsts to its credit, in terms of making it easier for fans to connect to cricket on mobile. We are pleased to be the first sports federation globally to launch the SMS Fast Follow feature on Twitter and ensure that cricket-lovers are now just a missed call away from getting inside information on their favourite sport."

Added Rishi Jaitly, India and South East Asia Market Director, Twitter; "In India, Twitter is focused on reaching every person with a mobile phone and this product is in service of that goal. We applaud the BCCI for taking the initiative to make it even more accessible for fans to stay in touch with the latest on Indian cricket."

As Team India gets ready to defend its tag of World Champions Down Under, here’s a  chance for cricket fans to dive straight into all the action. Follow @BCCI on the web, the Twitter app on Android and iOS or simply by dialling 011 3008 1008.
