Ind-NZ: Kiwis pick up three wickets, India lead by 308 runs
At lunch, India are at 254 runs for the loss of four wickets and they now lead the visitors by 308 runs.
The New Zealand bowlers bowled a tight line as the inaugural session yielded wickets of Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Both Vijay (76) and Pujara (78) looked set for a hundred but a dogged bowling from Mitchell Santner accounted for the former while the latter was removed by Ish Sodhi with Ross Taylor aiding with a fine catch at slips.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli got off to a good start hitting an array of boundaries before a mistimed slog-sweep saw his end at the crease.
Virat (16) dragged a ball off Mark Craig from his off stump and scooped it to mid wicket, where Ish Sodhi completed the formality, claiming him twice in the match on the outfield.
With the pitch aiding spin, Craig has looked the better of the three Kiwi spinners.
Ajinkya Rahane (21) and Rohit Sharma (12) are at the crease and will resume batting when play begins again.
