Cricket World Cup 2023: No changes in Indian team as of now, says Rahul Dravid

| @indiablooms | Sep 28, 2023, at 07:38 pm

Rajkot/UNI: India's head coach Rahul Dravid on late Wednesday night said there are no changes in India's World Cup team as of now.

The Indian coach made this remark amidst speculations that off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stands a chance to be replaced with the injured Axar Patel in the final WC squad.

"We have to wait for an official confirmation or a decision on that. The NCA is in touch with the selectors and Ajit (Agarkar) so I will not make any comments on that. If there is any change you will get to hear about it officially, as of now there are no changes," Dravid told reporters here.

Clearing air over the absences in the Rajkot ODI match, Dravid expected all of them to reach Guwahati for the warmup match against England.

"We have had a few issues with going viral around the group. It was a bit of a balancing act, especially because few guys had to go home due to personal reasons.

"There was a team leaving for the Asian Games tonight, so some of the guys like Rutu (Ruturaj Gaikwad) and Tilak (Varma) had to go. So, it was a bit of a jugglery that we had to manage in this game," he said.

"But no, I'm hoping we have got about a week. I expect everyone to be there in Guwahati when we reach tomorrow, latest by tomorrow night or the morning the next day, we should be full strength. The bug around the group should've cleared up as well. Be nice if that happens," Dravid said.

Team India For WC: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav.
