New Delhi, Dec 6 (IBNS): With less than a year left, All India Football Federation is providing talented kids all over the Country another chance to give it a shot to get selected for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017in the Coca Cola Cup.

AIFF in association with Coca Cola will be scouting talent from the Tournament which will be held across eleven States – namely Assam, Delhi, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab & West Bengal -- in December/January 2017.

“I am sure the Coca Cola Cup will help us to unearth talent for the World Cup squad. The Tournament offers all perhaps the last chance to get selected for the World Cup Team,” Abhishek Yadav, Director, Scouting, AIFF told www.the-aiff.com.

Boys born on or after Jan 1, 2000 are eligible to participate in the Tournament.

Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF said that the Coca Cola Tournament has helped in “getting youth football organised in India.”

“Among other things, the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 will be a culmination of our partnership and work that we have jointly put in Youth Football Development in India over the years,” Mr. Das stated.

“Coca Cola has been a partner of AIFF for over 7 years and their contribution has helped us immensely in getting Youth Football organized,” he added.

Keeping in mind the 2017 U-17 World Cup, AIFF has been relentlessly scouting all over the country for potential talent. Barely a week back, Abhishek Yadav, Director, Scouting, AIFF scouted four promising boys who have been called for further trials by Head Coach Nicolai Adam.

Yadav, a former Indian captain has scouted 11 boys, all of whom represented India in the AFC U-16 Finals and the BRICS Cup held earlier this year.

Schools interested to participate in the Coca Cola Cup can either get in touch with their State Football Federation or directly register themselves on: www.the-aiff.com/cocacola by Dec 10, 2016.
