Mumbai/IBNS: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and former cricketer Vinod Kambli's reunion at a public event was marked by emotions as the besties attended a programme in memory of their coach, late Ramakant Achrekar, in Mumbai on Tuesday.

In a video which went viral on social media, Tendulkar was seen walking up to Kambli who was unwilling to let go of the cricket legend's hands.

Even when Tendulkar was trying to move on, Kambli was absolutely not in agreement to leave his hands.

The two former cricketers met at an event which was organised to unveil the memorial dedicated to their mentor, Achrekar.

The video turned all who followed cricket closely in the 1990s nostalgic as the duo were regular players in the national team.

While Tendulkar went on to become a cricket great, Kambli's cricketing career was short-lived.

Kambli, who has the highest career batting average for an Indian Test cricketer of 54, played his last Test at 23.

The former cricketer, whose video of leaving the Eden Gardens with tears after failing to qualify for the 1996 World Cup is still fresh in minds, played his last One Day International match at 28.

Apart from Tendulkar and Kambli, several other cricketers from the Mumbai circuit like Paras Mambhrey, Pravin Amre, Sanjay Bangar were present at the event.
