London: Australia dominated the show and picked up seven wickets to bowl out India for 234 runs to win the World Test Championship by 209 runs here on Sunday.

India's struggle commenced when Virat Kohli (49) was dismissed by Scott Boland.

Ajinkya Rahane remained the second top scorer for India in the second innings with his 46 runs knock.

Scott Boland picked up three wickets in the match while Mitchell Starc dismissed two including Rahane.

Nathan Lyon created things difficult for India as he dismissed four wickets in the innings.

Skipper Pat Cummins scalped one wicket.

This is the first time Australia won the title.

New Zealand were the previous champion by defeating the same opponent in the previous edition of the championship.

India lost their chances to become the title winner despite reaching the final twice.

The lower order collapsed in front of the spirited performance by Australia with only Srikar Bharat  adding 23 runs.
