Indore/IBNS: Australia kept their hopes to level the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 contest alive defeating India in the third Test by nine wickets here on Friday.

Australia were set a target of only 76 by India to win the match.

Though spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin gave early breakthrough to India this morning, Australian batters Travis Head (unbeaten 49 off 53 balls) and Marnus Labuschagne (unbeaten 28 of 58 balls) ensured the visitors reach home.

India were bowled out for only 109 and 163 in the two innings respectively.

Australia could score 197 in the first innings.

Despite the loss, India are still leading the four-match series 2-1 with one contest to go.
