Maxwell (4-46) and Johnson (3-27) destroyed the opponent as they kept struggling against the hosts who performed brilliantly with the ball.
Moeen Ali (26), Joe Root (25), Ravi Bopara (33) and Stuart Broad (24) were the only batsmen to cross the 20-run mark.
The rest of the English lineup failed to perform with their willows.
England have lost 13 of their last 15 one-day internationals against the hosts in Australia.
England will play two more warm-up clashes in the country before starting their World Cup campaign against Australia on Feb 14.
