Ashwin's 'fifer' helps India bowl out England for 255
Ashwin got rid of Ben Duckett (5) and Joe Root (53) on the second day and accounted for Ben Stokes (70), Stuart Broad (13) and James Anderson (0) on Saturday.
Among the other Indian bowlers, Umesh Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami and debutant Jayant Yadav picked up a wicket each.
For England, apart from the sixth wicket partnership of 110 runs between Stokes and Bairstow (53), they lost wickets at regular intervals.
Earlier, resuming their innings on an overnight score of 103 runs for the loss of five wickets, the pair of Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes added 87 runs more to the total before the former was dismissed by Umesh Yadav.
Coming in to bat with their side placed precariously at 80 runs for the loss of five wicket, the right and left hand partnership of Bairstow and Stokes bailed their team out from a further slump, though they still need 64 runs to avoid a possible follow-on.
England's chances were aided by some sloppy glovework by Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, who missed a stumping chance and dropped a low catch.
