Ashish Nehra to undergo knee surgery

Mumbai, May 24 (IBNS) Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra, who injured his right knee during the VIVO Indian Premier League 2016, will undergo knee surgery in the upcoming days, the BCCI confirmed on Tuesday.

"BCCI medical team confirms that India medium pacer, Ashish Nehra, injured his right knee during the VIVO Indian Premier League 2016. Assessment and investigation by BCCI medical staff revealed Nehra sustained a high-grade tendon injury and was recommended to consult Dr. Andrew Williams, orthopaedic specialist in London. Post consultation, Dr. Williams has advised surgery on his right knee, which will take place shortly," the BCCI said in a statement.

Nehra was playing in the current session of the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
