Ashes 2nd day: Australia struggling after losing half their side
Earlier in the day, the English batsmen resumed batting and added 87 runs to post a respectable 430 before being bowled out by Australian bowlers.
Australian pacer Mitchell Star gave away plenty of runs but picked up five wickets.
This was also the 3rd fifer in his career.
English batsman Moeen Ali batted briskly in the morning session to notch a fifty, his maiden Ashes half-century. He scored 77 off 88 deliveries.
Australian pair of David Warner and Chris Rogers started off cautiously, seeing off the 8 overs left for lunch.
Rogers who got out after making 95 was ably supported by Steve Smith and Michael Clarke, with whom he formed crucial partnerships.
Smith, Clarke and Voges all threw away promising starts after reaching the 30’s. Shane Watson (29) and Nathan Lyon (6) are at the crease.
For England, Moeen Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 2 wickets by giving away 67 runs.
