Trivandrum, Dec 26 (IBNS) Afghanistan defeated Bhutan 3-0 in a Group B clash of the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015 at the Trivandrum International Stadium in Kerala on Dec 26.

It was all Afghanistan from the opening minutes of the match, as the ‘Afghan Lions’ kept initiating raids on the Bhutanese citadel throughout the match.

The break through however came in the 14th minute when Khaibar Amani headed his opportunity home to give Afghanistan a solitary goal lead.

Afghanistan doubled their lead in the 42nd minute when Masih Saigani scored following a tacky attacking play. The half-time score-line read 2-0 in favor of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan put the result of the match beyond doubt and cancelled any chance of a Bhutan comeback when Amani scored his second of the match in the 51st minute to make it 3-0.

The ‘Afghan Lions’ fostered numerous chances in the remaining time, but were unable to add a fourth. The full-time scoreline read 3-0 in favor of Afghanistan as they went top of Group B.
