ACB appoints Manoj Prabhakar as bowling coach

Kabul, Dec 19 (IBNS) The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Friday appointed ex-Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar as their bowling coach.

Prabhakar will now join Afghanistan's head coach Inzamam ul-Haq and the rest of the supporting staff.

Prabhakar's inclusion comes few months before the start of the ICC World T20 Championship, to be played in India.

After his appointment, The Hindu quoted Prabhakar as saying, "I am glad I can guide the Afghan team. They have immense talent and I am sure, in the years to come, the Afghanistan team would emerge as a force to reckon with in all forms of the game."

"They have shown a healthy keenness to learn the finer points of the game."

The appointment of an Indian in the Afghan fold also comes right after the ACB signed an MoU with the BCCI earlier this month, which pledged support to the neighboring country and also allotted a ground in Greater Noida to the Afghanistan team for their practice.
