Kolkata, Sep 22 (IBNS): SVF, an entertainment company, is all set to bring Bengali original web series in its recently launched digital platform Hoichoi.

SVF has launched a digital content platform to provide Bengali entertainment, including movies and songs, here on Wednesday.

SVF co-founders Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni and executive director Vishnu Mohta launched Hoichoi on Wednesday.

The entertainment company announced that they are making Bengali original web series available in their recently launched digital platform which would allow them to experiment with different contents.

While speaking about the plans of web series in Hoichoi in a brief interaction with IBNS, Shrikant, said: "We have started to make films then we moved to television so we have an experience of 20 years. I felt that there are certain films or content which cannot be shown on big screens as it is a public medium but there is a charm to tell those stories in web series through episodes. That is where Hoichoi originals will play an important role."

Hoichoi is providing the Bengali audiences 500 Bengali movies, 1000 songs and also 10 original films initially.

Some of the originals which will be available to the viewers at the star include Hello!, Cartoon, Dupur Thakurpo, Holy Faak, Bouma Detective and also Byomkesh.

The viewers will have to download an app of Hoichoi which is available in both android and iOS platforms.

The subscription rate for Hoichoi has been kept in three slabs.

The subscription can be done for three months, six months and 12 months at Rs. 149, Rs. 249 and 399 respectively.

The SVF has kept multiple payment options to subscribe Hoichoi.

The app will make all forms of Bengali films available to the viewers including movies of Satyajit Ray.

SVF founders said Hoichoi will be available in Bangladesh. Though Bangladeshi films are not available presently in the app, SVF co-founder Shrikant Mohta told IBNS such plans are going on.

Vishnu Mohta, Co-Founder - Hoichoi and Executive Director - SVF, said, “Hoichoi is the ultimate destination for Bengali entertainment, with something on offer for every Bengali - young or old, movie buff or music lover, student or working professional. We wish to connect with all of them, worldwide, on Hoichoi.”

We plan to invest substantially to make some of the best and freshest premium content available on Hoichoi, to cater to Bengalis globally.”

Hoichoi, powered by ViewLift, the international content distribution platform and Amazon Web Services, world’s leading cloud computing solution provider, will enable subscribers to stream videos seamlessly. Rediffusion Y&R is the creative agency behind Hoichoi's visual identity and advertising campaigns.
