Kolkata/IBNS: Bangladeshi actor Afran Nisho has marked his big screen debut with filmmaker Raihan Rafi's 'Surongo' which will have its theatrical release in West Bengal on July 21.

Ahead of the Kolkata release, Nisho, a popular actor in Dhaka, was in the city where he spoke on his debut film, a romantic-thriller which got its theatrical release in Bangladesh on June 29.

Nisho says, "This is my first experience in films. I have worked in theatres for a long time. I am very excited and thankful to people who have appreciated the film. I am very emotional (over my debut). The journey (in films) started late but I believe every journey starts at an appropriate time."

"My debut could have been much more mature had I got even more time. I always intend to mature and grow as an actor with time. I always crave to play diverse characters and my intention will be the same in films," he added.

Nisho had earlier worked in the Hoichoi web series 'Kaiser'.

Apart from 'Kaiser', Nisho has featured in a number of web shows besides actively working on television for years.

Speaking on why he took time to make his big screen debut, the actor told IBNS, "I have got a number of film offers from both Kolkata and Dhaka but one factor or the other, be it budget or story or something else, was not favourable."

"My character is Masood. I feel Masood and Moyna are connected to the audience. Stories touch people's hearts when the audience connects with the characters," he added.
