Kolkata/IBNS: Tollywood actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty's recent social media pictures take us back to the days of late iconic filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali daily soap Gaaner Oparey.

Chakraborty became a household name as Pupe, whose attire was always saree, in the serial which marked her acting debut.

In a separate post, Chakraborty, wearing the same saree and blouse, spoke on a serious topic of saving the soil as she supports spiritual guru Sadhguru's 30,000 kms walk for the cause.

She said, "Through the chilling winters of Europe, to scorching summer in the Middle East, into the monsoons of India ; Sadhguru starts his 30,000 km, 100 days journey TODAY, at the age of 65 to Save Soil.

On the work front, the contemporary leading Bengali actress was last seen in the 2021 film Baazi.

She will soon be seen in cinemas through upcoming films Mini and Khela Jawkhon.
