Middle East conflict forces delay of Yash’s Toxic; new release date announced

Fans of superstar Yash were eagerly counting down to the grand release of his much-anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, which had already generated massive buzz with its gripping teaser and first single.

Originally slated to hit theatres on March 19 — strategically aligned with festive celebrations like Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Eid — the film was poised for a blockbuster opening weekend.

However, in a last-minute development, the makers have decided to postpone the release to June, just weeks before its theatrical debut.

In an official statement, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations said the ongoing conflict in the Middle East influenced their decision. Given that the film has been shot in English as well and is aimed at a global audience, the uncertainty in key international markets prompted a reassessment.

“…the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.

“Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support,” the statement read.

The film will now release worldwide on June 4, 2026.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is billed as a stylised action drama set against a dark, crime-ridden backdrop. Packed with slick action sequences and punchy dialogues, the teaser has positioned the film as a high-octane entertainer exploring themes of crime, power and revenge.

The film also stars Kiara Advani and Nayanthara in pivotal roles. Shot simultaneously in English and Kannada, Toxic will additionally release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, targeting a wide pan-India and global audience.
