Kannada director Guruprasad's decomposed body found at Bengaluru flat

Bengaluru/IBNS: Kannada director Guruprasad's decomposed body was found at his apartment in Bengaluru, media reports said.

Police were called by Guruprasad's neighbours who receiving a smell from the director's flat.

Cops said they discovered the body of the 52-year-old, who used to live alone, decomposed and hanging in the living room.

Police are probing all possible angles linked to the death but initial reports suggested Guruprasad was battling financial constraints.

The late director made his debut in 2006 with Mata, which went on to become a cult.

Some of his other works include Eddelu Manjunatha, Director's Special.

Mourning his demise, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai posted on X, "It is a sad fact that famous film director Guruprasad has passed away. He has given many good films to Kannada.

"It is very painful that he committed suicide. May God rest his soul in eternal peace. Om Shantih."
