Jammu and Kashmir: Budgam girl wins award for directing short film 'Kayam'

Budgam:  Sabahat Qayoom, a Class 10 student from Jammu and Kashmir, has won an award for directing a short film titled ‘Kayam’ in New Delhi.

Sabahat hails from Budgam region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to her Board exam, the award was received by her uncle, one of the organizers told the news agency Kashmir News Trust over phone from New Delhi, reported Kupwara Times.

Sabahat Qayoom along with Creative Director Anil Kumar Singh directed ‘Kayaam’ which is a 6-minute short film. It was today in Hindi language with English subtitles under the aegis of the 18th International Film and Photography Festival, ‘PRISM’ by JIMS, Delhi at IIMC Auditorium, New Delhi, the news portal reported.
