Fast & Furious 7 makes strong start at BO

New York, Apr 6 (IBNS) 'Fast & Furious 7' has made a strong start at the box office as it collected $143.6 million in the north American market, media reports said.

“This is a bittersweet installment in the franchise,” said Phil Contrino, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com was quoted as saying by variety.com.

This is the next member of the billion-dollar club, and that’s a rarefied place to be,” said Contrino.

"Internationally, the film rolled out across 10,500 screens in 63 territories, earning $240.4 million," variety.com reported.


‘Fast & Furious 7′ is the sequel to the 2013 film Fast & Furious 6 and the seventh installment in the series.

The film has been written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan.

It stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges and Jason Statham.
