A 23-year-old youth, along with a 20-year-old girl, jumped in front of a moving train and committed suicide in Kachhanua area of Hardoi district here in Uttar Pradesh allegedly after failing to get married, police sources said.

He said that the youth was having an affair with his niece and the duo wanted to get married.

"As both of them were close relatives their family members had objections over marriage. In fact the girl's family members had started looking for a marriage proposal for her," they said.

Police sources said that on Sunday morning the youth left his house in the SUV and picked the girl midway and reached the railway crossing near Sujanpura village.

"There they came in front of the express train and committed suicide. Their bodies were found on the railway track," they said.
