Yogi Adityanath takes oath as UP CM for second term

Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party strongman Yogi Adityanath on Friday took oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive term at a grand ceremony held at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A large number of people had attended the ceremony in the stadium.

UP governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Yogi Adityanath.

Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak took oath as CM Yogi's deputies.

Yogi on Thursday met Governor Anandiben Patel and staked claim to form the government in the state.

In the recently concluded elections, the BJP has won 255 of 403 assembly seats to return to power for the first time in 37 years.
