Wrong vote can make your child tea-seller or chowkidar: Sidhu

| @indiablooms | Apr 29, 2019, at 08:03 pm

New Delhi, Apr 29 (IBNS): In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday warned voters that one "wrong vote" could make their children "tea-seller, pakoda-seller or a chowkidar (watchman)" in the future.

"A wrong vote can make your children chaiwala, pakodewala or chowkidar. Better prevent and prepare, rather then repent and repair," Sidhu tweeted on Monday.

Interestingly all these work profiles are related to PM Modi. In 2014, Modi banked on the fact that he was a tea-seller and definitely a commoner.

Ahead of the 2019 election, PM Modi has launched the "Main Bhi Chowkidar" campaign calling himself a caretaker of the country.

He even changed his Twitter Handle title to "Chowkidar Narendra Modi".

Following suit, several Union ministers, PM Modi's supporters and BJP leaders and workers also added the prefix "chowkidar" before their titles on social media.

Earlier, the Election Commission barred Sidhu from campaigning for 72 hours  over to his recent comment in which he warned Bihar's Muslim community against dividing its vote.

"I will like to warn you Muslim brothers, they are dividing you by bringing people like Owaisi (AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi). They are raising a new party here, they want to divide and win," he had said in Katihar at a rally.
