Will contest more than 41 seats at any cost: JMM chief Hemant Soren

| @indiablooms | Nov 06, 2019, at 06:21 pm

Ranchi, Nov 6 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition and acting president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that his party will contest more than 41 seats at any cost in the next Assembly Elections in the state.

Speaking to the press after the working committee meet of the party here, he said his party stands by its earlier stance to contest more seats than the other constituents of the Mahagatbandhan to secure majority for the alliance in the assembly.

A decision in this regard will be taken by late evening today or by tomorrow and the shape of the Mahagthabandhan will be before everyone, he said.

The Congress and the RJD are having discussions but Babulal Marandi of the JVM(P) did not give him time, therefore, talks over the Mahagathbandhan with his party have not been finalised so far.

He said that the first list of JMM candidates will be released on November 8.

In the meeting, which was held at the residence of JMM supremo Shibu Soren, apart from the MLAs of the JMM, MP, former MLAs and members of the working committee were present.

Hemant had been camping in New Delhi for the last couple of days but could not meet Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi.
