West Bengal: Church attacked in East Midnapore, 3 arrested

Kolkata/IBNS: At least three people were arrested in connection with the attack on a church in West Bengal's  East Midnapore district on Monday.

The attack took place in Bhagavanpur area in the district.

According to reports, the attackers vandalised the church.

The church authorities reportedly said the Bharatiya Janata Party supporters were behind the attack.

The party denied its involvement in the incident.

The police have registered a complaint in connection with the incident.

Alok Ghosh, the pastor of the church, filed a police complaint naming eight people who he claimed were local BJP and RSS workers, reported NDTV.
