West Bengal: Chandannagar Police Commissioner Humayun Kabir resigns

Kolkata/IBNS: The chief of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, Humayun Kabir, on Friday resigned from the post, three months before his retirement, reports said.

According to reports, the 2003 batch IPS officer tendered his resignation showing some "personal" reasons.

Officials in the state Home department said that 2005 batch IPS officer Gaurav Sharma, who is currently appointed as Joint CP (Establishment) in Kolkata, will take the charge as Chandannagar CP on Saturday.

Months ago, Humayun Kabir's wife, Anindita Das Kabir, joined the Trinamool Congress party.
