West Bengal: BJP claims Trinamool attack on party workers

Kolkata, Mar 14 (IBNS): The BJP in West Bengal has accused ruling Trinamool Congress activists of attacking its party members in two separate incidents in Burdwan and Islampur on Wednesday and Thursday.

In yesterday's incident, party worker Apurba Chakraborty was attacked at Islampur in north Bengal.

Chakraborty is critical and has ben admitted to Uttar Banga Medical College, party sources said.

The BJP has demanded West Bengal be declared as a "super sensitive" state and the deployment of central forces at every polling booth in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

BJP sources said party workers were also attacked at Khondaghosh in Burdwan on Thursday.

The BJP workers were heading to Shakti Kendra Samallen at Khondaghosh, Burdwan when the attack took place.
