West Bengal: 2 killed in explosion in Burdwan

Kolkata/Burdwan, Jun 22 (IBNS): Two men were killed due to an explosion, while they were making crude bombs, at Chenchuri village under Ketugram Police Station area in West Bengal's Burdwan district on Tuesday midnight, officials said.

According to reports, when they were making crude bombs, an explosion occurred accidentaly and both died on the spot.

Locals and killed men's family members claimed that they were activists of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).

TMC leaderships, however, denied their involvement with the incident.

Police have started investigation into the incident.

"Two men were killed in crude bomb explosion, while they were producing bombs, on Tuesday midnight. Their body was recovered today early morning and have been sent for post-mortem. We have begun probe into the matter," one senior official of Burdwan district police told IBNS.
