WB CM Mamata Banerjee's brother dies of Covid-19 in Kolkata hospital

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's younger brother Ashim Banerjee on Saturday died in a Kolkata hospital from Covid 19.

He was undergoing treatment at Medica Superspecialty Hospital. 

The hospital's chairman Dr Alok Roy informed the media about the death of the CM's brother.  He passed away at around 920 am in the morning. 

Reports said he was undergoing treatment for last one month at the medical facility on EM Bypass. 

He would be cremated at Nimtala crematorium following all Covid cremation protocol, said reports.
