Shahjahanpur/UNI: Three people were arrested for pelting stones and ransacking the office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over a petty issue in the Sadar Bazar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said that the incident took place late on Wednesday night when a worker from the RSS office raised an objection over Shashank Gupta urinating on the wall of the office in Shaheed Udyan.

He said that, irked by this, Shashank called his accomplices, had a scuffle with the workers, and ransacked the office.

"After getting the information, SP (City) along with the circle officer and police force reached the spot and controlled the situation," he said.

The SP said that the police have lodged a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have arrested three persons, including Shashank Gupta, Maanjh Gupta, and Mahesh Gupta.

"Other miscreants are being identified with the help of CCTV footage, and four teams have been deployed to arrest them," he said.
