Uttar Pradesh: Road accident claims seven lives of family on Yamuna Expressway

Mathura/UNI: Seven members of a family, including three women and a child, were killed and two others were injured, when a car collided with a stationary vehicle on Yamuna Expressway here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

Police sources said the incident took place at around 5 am, when the car carrying nine persons collided with an unidentified vehicle near Bajna cut in Naujheel area on Yamuna Expressway.

"Lallu Gautam, his wife Chutki, sons Rajesh and Sanjay Gautam, daughters-in-law Nandini and Nisha and Rajesh's son Dheeraj died on the spot," they said.

Police sources said that Sanjay's son Krish and Gopal Gautam were seriously injured in the accident and were admitted to the district hospital in Mathura.

"The victims were returning to Sadarpura in Gautam Buddha Nagar after attending a marriage function at their native village Bahadurpur in Hardoi district," they added.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the death of seven persons in the accident and has conveyed his sympathies towards the bereaved family. He has also directed for proper treatment of the injured.
