Uttar Pradesh: Constable commits suicide in Badaun

Badaun: A constable hanged himself and committed suicide allegedly due to marital discord in Alapur area of Badaun district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a senior officer said here.

Superintendent of Police (City) Amit Kishore Shrivastava said that constable Gaurav (22), a resident of Muzaffarnagar district was posted as Alapur police station.

"Gaurav was having a dispute with his wife for a long time due to which he was depressed. Around 12 noon the constable hanged himself in his rented room and committed suicide," he said.

He said that Gaurav's colleagues have revealed that he had an argument with his wife on the phone, after which he locked the room from inside and committed suicide.
