Barabanki: At least eight persons died and around 12 were injured when a bus rammed into another parked on Uttar Pradesh's Purvanchal expressway on Monday morning.

Police sources said that the double decker bus ferrying passengers from Darbhanga in Bihar to Delhi rammed into a stationary bus in Haidergarh area.

Several passengers were injured in the accident and were taken to the primary health center where eight were declared dead, the sources said.

They said that around a dozen passengers, including a minor Madan Shyam (8), Sarita, Kaushal and Arjun Paswan were seriously injured in the accident.

The bus driver and conductor escaped after the incident, they added.
