New Delhi, Oct 25 (IBNS): US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

The details of the meeting is still not known.

PIB India tweeted: "US Secretary of State, Mr Rex Tillerson calls on PM @narendramodi."

After meeting US secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said US President Donald Trump's plans for South Asia will only succeed if Pakistan acts against the terror outfits indiscriminately, thus sending a tough message once again to India's neighbouring country on Wednesday.

Swaraj, who met Tillerson for the second time in one month, said she has they discussed a number of issues, including H-1B visa, terrorism, among others.

Without taking the name of any country, Swaraj, at the press conference, said: "There are still a lot of countries who are protecting the terrorists."

"Terrorism is a threat to the whole world now," India's external affairs minister added.

Regarding the H-1B visa, Swaraj urged the US to be careful about its regulations. "I told Tillerson that America should not do anything that will hit India."

Speaking about the bilateral relationship between the two nations, Swaraj said: "We always give priority to the bilateral ties between India and America."

Tillerson, who came to India on Tuesday, will also meet Prime Minster Narendra Modi.

Referring to the long trade relationship between the two nations, Tillerson called India, "a leading power".

"India-US show spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. The two countries will be tied together in friendship and respect," the US state secretary said.
