UP: FIR lodged against teacher for slapping standard three student

Lucknow, Sep 1 (IBNS): An FIR was lodged against a teacher in Uttar Pradesh after a video of her slapping a class three student went viral, reports aid.

The incident took place at St. John Vaidyanya School in Uttretia locality of Lucknow on Thursday after the student allegedly failed to answer when his name was called out during the roll call.

The victim has been identified as Ritesh, who was sitting in the front row when the accused Retika V John started with the roll call proceedings.

The teacher got angry after the student did not respond and hit him continuously for about two minutes and later dragged him and banged his head against the black board.

The complaint was lodged by the boy's parents who confirmed the incident with Ritesh's friends.

The parents also approached the principal of the school, who after going through the CCTV footage assured the parents of dismissing the teacher from the institution.
