Union I&B minister promises Film Institute for Itanagar, to start functioning from May 15

Itanagar, Apr 19 (IBNS): Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, M Venkaiah Naidu, has said that a film institute will be set up in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, according to media reports on Wednesday.

Naidu made the announcement while he was talking to the media in Guwahati on Tuesday.

According to media reports, the Minister said that the institute will be set up under the aegis of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata.

Naidu said that the institute will start functioning from a temporary campus from May 15 this year.

The institute will start functioning with an introductory 10 week short term course.
