Udhhav Thackeray threatens to break alliance with BJP
The attack by the Shiv Sena chief on its partner came at a rally ahead of the civic polls in Kalyan-Dombivali, a Mumbai suburb.
Thackeray's threat followed Eknath Shinde's offer to resign from his post. Shinde is a Shiv Sena party member and a minister in the Devendra Fadnavis government.
Shinde reportedly said he could "no longer suffer the humiliation" being meted out to the Sena by the BJP.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has, however, dismissed the threat.
"We have seen on television a cabinet minister making allegations and offering to resign. This is nautanki (drama)," Fadnavis was quoted as saying by NDTV.
