Two IIT-G students arrested for alleged rape of three girls

Guwahati, Febr 8 (IBNS) : Police on Wednesday arrested two students of Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati (IIT-G), who had allegedly raped three girls on the prestigious institution's campus.

According to reports, the crime was committed during the institution's annual cultural festival 'Alcheringa' on Monday last.

Amingaon police have arrested Kunal Kumbhakar, a student of Civil Engineering department and Ajay Dey, a student of Electronics Engineering department in connection with the  case.

Police have registered a case (No-14/17) under sections 353, 354 and 34 IPC.

Police said  the two accused allegedly raped the three girls after drugging them by lacing drinks with sedatives.
