Two fire incidents in Navi Mumbai kill 6 including a mother-daughter duo

Mumbai/IBNS: Two separate fire incidents in Navi Mumbai during Diwali celebrations claimed six lives including a mother-daughter duo on Tuesday, media reports said.

A massive fire broke out at Ambe Shraddha Cooperative Society, Sector 36 in Kamothe at 5 am after a cylinder reportedly blasted on the third floor.

The fire spread across the flat trapping a mother-daughter duo who succumbed to injuries.

The rest of the family members managed to escape.

The probe into the cause of the fire is underway.

In a separate incident, four people died when a fire broke out on the 10th floor of B Wing, Raheja Residency, M.G. Complex, Sector 14, Vashi at midnight during Diwali celebrations.

Among four killed were two women, a man and a minor girl.

Ten others were injured. The injured were rushed to two hospitals in Vashi.
