Twenty holidaymakers injured after chartered bus hits truck on Mumbai Road

Kolkata/UNI: At least 20 people were today wounded, some of them seriously, when a Digha bound charted bus in which they were travelling hit a goods laden truck parked on Mumbai Road in West Bengal's Howrah district, official sources said.

All the injured were taken to the Uluberai hospital, while some critically wounded passengers were rush to a hospital in Kolkata.

The accident happened at Birshivpur.

The maxi bus carrying holidaymakers from Shamnagar was heading towards Digha when the accident occurred this morning.

Eyewitnesses said the bus hit the stranded truck while overtaking another  truck on the drenched metalled road.
