Shivpuri: About a dozen pilgrims travelling in a passenger bus were injured when it lost control and overturned on Lukwasa road in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district in the early hours of Wednesday.

Badarwas police sources said the devotees were proceeding to Omkareshwar in Khandwa district.

The injured pilgrims were taken to Badarwas health centre and district hospital for treatment.

More than 70 devotees boarded the bus and were residents of Gwalior and Morena districts. They were going to religious places.

The reason for verturning of the bus has been attributed to overspeed by the driver.

Police have registered a case.
