Tripura: Father killed his addicted son

Agartala, May 17 (UNI) A middle-aged father was arrested last night at Sonaichari village of Belonia in South Tripura for allegedly killing his 18-year-old son Oli Mohan Tripura.

The accused father Saranjoy Tripura confessed to police that he had hit his son with a chopper but did not realise the bizarre consequence.

According to Saranjoy, his son Oli used to lead an indiscipline life and was liquor addicted. About six months ago his mother died and he turned more reckless.

He often used to create pressure on his day-labourer father for money which he was unable to meet all the time.

Oli demanded money to his father and started beating him with his shoes on May 15 morning after his father refused to pay him money, police said, adding that Saranjoy could not control his temper and hit the son with a chopper and Oli died on the spot.

Police arrested Saranjoy with the statement of his daughter Durbasree and later a local court sent him to jail.
