Tibetan spiritual guru the 14th Dalai Lama is scheduled to arrive here on Monday on a two-day trip to Sikkim at the invitation of the state government, an official said on Sunday.

The Dalai Lama will be delivering sermons on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s "37 Practices of a Bodhisattva" at Paljor Stadium here on Tuesday morning, the official said.

"His Holiness will be landing here on Monday morning. On Tuesday morning he will be delivering sermons," Sikkim Information and Public Relations Secretary Karma D Youtso told mediapersons.

The Dalai Lama would attend a banquet given in his honour by Chief Minister P S Tamang on Tuesday afternoon.

Youtso said people will be allowed to enter the stadium from 3 am to 7 am, on the day of the sermon. "People must take their seats within this time frame, as the gates will be closed thereafter," he said.

Buses have been arranged for those coming from afar. Others need to walk down to the stadium, said the official.

The stadium has been decorated and on both sides of the Dalai Lama's seat, the Buddhist deities have been painted, besides the Eight auspicious Buddhist symbols.
