Three terrorists killed in Kashmir encounter

Jammu, July 3 (IBNS) Three militants were killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and security forces at Baloni Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, officials said.

According to reports, a gunfight erupted between security forces and militants in Mendhar of Poonch District area this morning.

Official sources said at least six militants were trapped and three of them were killed so far. He said that operation is till on in the area to flush out more militants.

A gun battle attempt comes a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a hydro-power project in the border town of Uri in the Valley and Jammu Katra Rail Line.
