Three poachers arrested with two AK-47 rifles in Assam’s Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: Police arrested three rhino poachers along with huge cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK series rifles, in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Sunday.

Based on intelligence input, Karbi Anglong district police launched operation and arrested three poachers while they were on their way to the Kaziranga National Park.

The arrested poachers were identified as 34-year-old Welson Teron, 36-year-old Dereshang Rengma and 29-year-old Alo Rengma.

Police had recovered two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, 30 rounds of live AK ammunition, two two torches, bags and other items in possession from them.
