| @indiablooms | Jun 28, 2023, at 11:53 pm

Mumbai: Mumbai police are probing the alleged death threat to Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi from different angles, including the involvement of underworld don Chhota Rajan gang, sources said on Wednesday.

In the past, the Rajan gang had targeted Azmi, who is one of the richest leaders of Mumbai.

In his election affidavit filed during the 2019 assembly elections, he had officially declared assets worth Rs 209 crore.

However, the Rajan gang later backed out.

Azmi recently received an explicit death threat on his WhatsApp number.

Sourcess said that normally, the Rajan gang does not send such messages, but calls its victims from satellite phones. But then the underworld is known to change its tactics.

Beside that police is also probing the various reasons for these threats.
