Territorial Army celebrates 65th Raising Day

New Delhi, Oct 9 (IBNS) The Territorial Army (TA) celebrated its 65th Raising Day on Thursday.

Gen Dalbir Singh, Chief of Army Staff, reviewed the parade at Army Parade Ground in New Delhi. 

He complimented all the award winners and the TA fraternity for doing yeomen service to the nation and also for putting up an impressive parade.

The parade, commanded by Colonel DS Chauhan, comprised Ten Marching Contingents of Infantry TA, Fifteen Military Bands and Three Tableaus of Railway Engineer, Oil Sector & Ecological TA.

"Smartly turned out contingents marching to martial tunes and a large crowd added fervor and enthusiasm to the environment. General Dalbir Singh conferred TA medals and decorations and the COAS Silver Trophy was jointly awarded to best TA units (108 Infantry Battalion TA MAHAR and 160 Infantry Battalion TA Home & Hearth JAK RIF)," read a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence.

The Territorial Army is headed by Major General Surinder Singh, Additional Director General.
