Telangana teacher gets life term for setting ablaze woman colleague in 2015

Hyderabad/UNI: A local court here on Tuesday convicted a 30-year-old teacher of a private school here for killing a woman colleague by setting her ablaze in March 2015, an official statement said here.

The court found Challa Shiva Prasad guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him, the statement further said.

On March 24, 2015, Shiva Prasad, who used to quarrel with the woman teacher over certain financial transactions for running the school, went to her house and doused her with kerosene and set her ablaze.

She died on the spot.

Based on a complaint filed by the woman’s husband, a case was registered and Shiva Prasad was arrested, the statement added.
