Tej Pratap declares himself as another Lalu, ridicules Tejaswi

Jehanabad, May 3 (UNI): The elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, today declared himself another 'Lalu' who would continue to struggle for social justice in absence of his father, presently lodged in jail after conviction in fodder scam.

Tej Pratap, annoyed over the denial of ticket to candidates of his choice by RJD, floated the 'Lalu-Rabri Morcha' and fielded his own candidates under this banner against official candidate of RJD Surendra Yadav from Jehanabad Lok Sabha seat.

Despite repeated requests from his mother Rabri Devi and other senior leaders of the party, Tej Pratap refused to budge from his stand and remained firm on fielding the candidate of his choice from Jehanabad seat.

Tej Pratap, while addressing an election meeting here seeking votes for his candiadate Chandra Prakash, said that he was strongly committed to spread the message of his father and also continue the struggle for social justice.

There was no question of compromising with principles and ideology for which his father had to pay heavy price and he was sent to jail by the present regime in Bihar and at the Centre, he added.

He said he had opposed the candidature of Surendra Prasad Yadav from Jehanabad seat because the candidate had lost several times from the constituency and there was no reason to give him another opportunity. He had advocated Chandra Prakash's candidature, but the party leadership did not oblige him. Consequently Mr Prakash was fielded under the banner of Lalu-Rabri Morcha.

Tej Pratap also ridiculed his younger brother Tejaswi Prasad Yadav without naming him. He said: "RJD chief Lalu Prasad used to address 10 to 12 meetings daily during electioneering but now its leader falls sick after addressing just four or five meetings."

Tej Pratap's younger brother and RJD second-in-command Tejashwi recently cancelled several meetings after falling sick during his hectic campaign trail.
